Discover Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant, a long-running Hong Kong-style café at 8500 Alexandra Rd #100, Richmond, BC V6X 3L4, Canada. Located along Richmond’s famous Alexandra Road food corridor, this casual cha chaan teng is known for hearty portions, an enormous Cantonese menu, nostalgic Hong Kong café dishes, and unusually late opening hours. Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant in Richmond is particularly appealing to families, groups, and night owls looking for filling local dining experiences without fine-dining prices or formality.
The Baked Pork Chop Rice is one of the best introductions to the restaurant. A substantial pork chop is served over rice and covered with tomato-based sauce and cheese before being baked until hot and comforting. It captures the distinctive East-meets-West character of Hong Kong café cooking, where Cantonese flavors meet European-inspired sauces and baked dishes. Tourism Richmond also highlights this plate as a recommended choice.
Baked Portuguese Chicken is another signature worth ordering. The dish combines chicken and rice with a creamy, gently spiced Portuguese-style sauce, producing a richer alternative to tomato-based baked rice. For diners who prefer noodles, Beef Brisket with Vegetable Chow Mein offers a satisfying contrast between tender beef, vegetables, savory sauce, and crisp pan-fried noodles. Fried rice, Hainanese chicken, hot pots, sweet-and-sour pork chops, sandwiches, and Western-style combination plates make the menu unusually broad.
Portions are one of the restaurant’s clearest strengths. A 2026 diner noted that the servings were “pretty big for the price” and arrived hot and fresh. Recent customer reports place substantial baked rice dishes around C$23–24, while larger Western combination sets can reach roughly C$30 or more. Many set meals include soup, with cream chicken-and-corn soup and Hong Kong-style borscht among the familiar choices.
The dining room is bright, practical, and somewhat old-school rather than fashionable. Booths and tightly arranged tables create an authentic cha chaan teng atmosphere, while fast, direct service keeps tables moving during busy periods. Parking can become difficult in the evening, and visitors may need to use nearby paid parking when the lot fills. Payment policies have also been reported inconsistently, so bringing cash is sensible.
Amenities include dine-in, takeout, delivery, reservations, wheelchair access, highchairs, and vegetarian choices. One particularly useful feature is the late-night schedule, with current listings showing service until about 1:30 a.m. daily. Hong Kong milk tea and iced lemon tea add another authentic touch for diners wanting the full café experience.
Among the best restaurants in Richmond for nostalgic Hong Kong comfort food, Silver Tower Cafe Restaurant stands out for variety, large portions, and dependable late-night dining. Visit for baked pork chop rice, Portuguese chicken, crispy noodles, and milk tea, and enjoy a relaxed taste of classic cha chaan teng culture.

Visited Silver Tower in Richmond for lunch and was a bit worried when we walked in and the place was fairly quiet. Ordered the Western Special Set (19a) with Minute Steak, Pork Chop, Wings, Sausage and Egg Platter ($31.5) as well as the Baked Tomato Sauce Chicken on Rice (3a) ($23.50). Both dishes came with soup so we got one each of the Borscht and Cream Chicken and Corn Soup. Iliked how the soup was piping hot when they brought it to us and thought the cream soup was one of the better ones I've had at HK-style cafes. We also got a couple of Cold Lemon Teas (which I believe is extra from the sets). The dishes here are quite big. I liked that there was enough tomato sauce in the rice dish and the fries were pretty crispy. Overall, pretty good food. Debit or cash only.
Haven't been here for a long time (7+ years?) but I remember it was one of the top places to go for HK style cafe so we decided to try it to see if it is still decent. The inside of the restaurant looks a bit dated but still plenty of room to sit. We were still within afternoon tea special so we ordered the Baked Pork Chop Cutlet Rice and Beef Brisket with Vegetable Chow Mein. Each came with a drink and was $17 each which is pretty good. The star of the show was the chow mein. It was crispy and went well with the oyster sauce and the beef brisket was tender and juicy. The baked pork chop rice was ok as there was a bit more bone in the pork chop than we liked and there wasn't any visible veggies that we could see (e.g. tomatoes). Overall still a good place to eat but probably stick with the food court as you don't need to tip.
This place had real Alleluia vibes, food was good, reasonable prices, larger portions than expected. Nice little HK Cafe
The signature baked pork chop rice is huge portions, and delicious. On top of the food, the seating is comfortable . As for the service... let's just say it's very "Hong Kong" brisk, ultra-efficient, no-nonsense, and straight to the point. If you know, you know! Definitely coming back.
Good place to grab some HK food. Portions were pretty big for the price and the food came hot and fresh! It was my first time eating spaghetti without tomato sauce…I guess in HK they eat it like a side of rice?
We went past this place and were curious about it, so we decided to go in and try it out. Overall, it was okay. We didn’t order anything special, just something common served at HK style cafe. We had a pork chop bun and fish fillet. Everything was alright, not great but not bad. Fries were fried twice, so they were crispy. Pork chop was not very flavourful. Fish fillet tasted a little bit too fishy or something not usual, not like what you expected from “fish and chips.” Tables and seats were quite nice. Again, there was nothing wrong with the food nor this cafe. I guess it was just not our cup of tea. There are more delicious options or cheaper options in Richmond I believe.
This place is real og and it's nearing 2 decades. Silver tower is a heavyweight contender for Hong Kong style cafe. This location has been a fantastic staple. The food is delicious. The parking is terrible. The Cafe Aunties can be bi polar at times. It's cash only and don't you ever forget that 10% minimum tip haha. Actually I think it's 12% minimum tip now. I've eaten so many dishes here over the years. Most of them are late night ones too. This place is great comfort food.
